Total Coliform (Drinking Water)
An easy-to-use, disposable tube method that indicates the presence of Total Coliform Bacteria in drinking water. The water sample is placed in five tubes containing a reagent tablet and incubated at room temperature for 44 to 48 hours. The tubes are then examined for positive indicators of coliform bacteria. The results are determined by a method that closely parallels the standard Total Coliform Multiple-Tube Presumptive Test (MPN) as outlined in Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater. Each kit contains a sterile Water Sampling Bag containing a dechlorinating tablet to neutralize any chlorine in the water sample, 5 tubes each containing a Coliform Test Tablet, and an instruction manual.
