Deb Scheil, Fairbault, MN writes,

Last March (2003) I was fortunate to be able to attend the NSTA Convention in Philadelphia. What an experience for an elementary teacher-often those trips are reserved for the senior high folks! I wanted to acknowledge that at the last session we attended about watersheds sponsored by LaMotte, I was also lucky enough to win a Watershed Tour Test Kit. This spring the fifth graders from my classroom participated in a project with River Bend Nature Center (the site of the famed dwarf trout lily) to test the Straight River which is part of the Cannon River Watershed. This was an incredible experience for them as they collected river data in small groups with a River Bend naturalist over the course of eight weeks.
Thanks, D.S.
