The "International Year of Fresh Water" is the theme of our Spring/Summer 2003 I&A Today on-line newsletter. We want to thank our authors for generously allowing us to use their interesting stories and pictures promoting global collaborations to improve water quality through education.

We would like to express our appreciation to the following authors for their contributions: Edward Moyer, ACWF Coordinator for World Water Monitoring Day (e.moyer@acwf.org) for highlighting World Water Monitoring Day, a massive global effort aimed at educating communities; Bill Deutsch, Program Manager for Alabama Water Watch and Principal Investigator of the USAID-funded water project in the Philippines (wdeutsch@acesag.auburn.edu) for his insight into the cross-cultural differences in the technical and human side of community-based monitoring. Wendy Griswold, et.al., Kansas State University, (grizmart@swbell.net) contributed a wonderful article about working with a Siberian University and community to collect baseline information on water quality. Yvonne Cai and Ning Shao, State of Maryland China Office, (yvonnecai@mccusa.org) are working very hard to put together a community Adopt a Creek response to poor water quality on the Suzhou Creek in Shanghai. Dan Poux, Earth Force Director of International Programs, (dpoux@earthforce.org) describes engaging youth in El Salvador, Panama, and Mexico.
